Sixty-one years old Antle Bhagavan was born on 1 March 1960. His birthplace is Salinas, California, United States, and his zodiac sign is Pisces. Bhagavan’s full name is Mahamayavi Bhagavan Antle.

He developed a love for animals when he grew up with his parents on their cattle ranch in Arizona. He gained his Doctoral degree in Chinese medicine. And from there, Bhagavan Antle got his nickname “Doc.”

He is also very active in charities and is an Executive Director of the Rare Species Fund, a non-profit conservation organization.

In 1982, he was offered to deliver a presentation with tiger for the annual convention of the Exxon Corporation. This raised Bhagavan’s profile as an animal trainer. Later in 2001, His profile was raised again when he appeared onstage alongside Britney Spears at the MTV Video Music Awards. The highlight of the performance was Spears wearing an albino python draped over her shoulders and a caged tiger. 

Besides that, Bhagavan also has collaborated on films featuring large and potentially dangerous animals. Antle has also featured in several documentaries about big cats. Such as PBS.s “Big Cats,” Nature’s “Jaguar: Year of the Cat,” and Nat Geo Wild’s “Super Cat.” And in 2020, he also featured in the Netflix documentary “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness.”

He was part of many talk shows and late-night shows as a guest in his entire career. Bhagavan never appears on screen without one of his animals.

In 2008, he appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show in Chicago, his orangutan named ” Suryia” and an orphaned blue tick hound named “Roscoe.”

 Does Bhagavan Have More Than One Wife?

Bhagavan Antle is alleged to have more than one wife. As stated by Mario’s wife in the Netflix documentary, Bhagavan has three wives. Meanwhile, many of Joe Exotic’s employees suggest the number to be even more.

The allegation got stronger when Bhagavan himself said he has a long-time girlfriend in China, living on the reserve since she was 17.

Similarly, there is Ranjnee, since she was 20, and Moksha since she was 16 years. They all live in separate houses on his land. And most importantly, Bhagavan refers to them as his girls.

Later, in an interview with Oxygen.com, Bhagavan gave his clarification on this topic. He told,

“When I say ‘my girl,’ it’s a cowboy saying, it’s not that these are my wives. Sure I’ve had girlfriends and there’s girls I have had relationships with that have come and gone over the decades.

“I am absolutely not married nor have I been since my wife died over 20 years ago now, I’m not married and I certainly don’t have wives. I certainly am a single guy and I live in a house by myself.”

To the accusation of many wives and cults, he denies all the allegations. He told Oxygen that he wouldn’t have a harem. And actually, all women seen with him in the Netflix documentary are girlfriends of his children and grandchildren.

A few associates have also accused Bhagavan Antle. One such is Barbara Fisher, who works with him in his animal park from 1999 to 2007. Barbara Fisher claimed that to make it to the top of the park, one would have sex with him as Bhagavan Antle preferred his sexual partners over others.

Controversies

In the year 2021, he got into the controversy of animal cruelty and trafficking. As he faced several wildlife trafficking charges stemming from an investigation in the United States.

As per a report from News13, “Bhagavan Antle and Keith Wilson, owner of Wilson’s Wild Animal Park in Virginia, trafficked lion cubs between Virginia and Myrtle Beach Safari.”

Also, he faced a charge with one felony count of wildlife trafficking. As well as one felony count of conspiracy to wildlife traffic, four misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to violate the Endangered Species Act and nine misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty.

Regarding the charges, Bhagavan stated that he took in three lion cubs from Wilson’s Wild Animal Park as those cubs weren’t getting proper care.
