After graduating from high school, Stewart Rhodes went to become Army at the age of 18. He also worked as a professional sculptor and as a Nevada State certified concealed carry firearms instructor. After college, he worked on Rep. Ron Paul’s (R, TX) DC staff.

In 2009, Rhodes turned away from electoral politics and formed Oath Keepers and recruited current and former military officers, veterans, and police officers. The group played a major role in the assault on the Capitol. Several were seen in full combat gear carving a path up the Capitol steps in a maneuver known as “The Stack.”

After founding Oath Keepers, Stewart has appeared on dozens of nationally syndicated radio shows, on scores of local radio shows across the country, and appeared on MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews, on Fox News’ The Factor with Bill O’Reilly, and on CNN Special Reports.

He was arrested for the 6 January Capital attack. However, he was found not guilty.
