Robert Rackstraw completed a 15-month tour in Vietnam in 1970 with 50 decorations, including dozens of air medals. The military sacked him the following year after one too many incidents of misconduct.

After being thrown out of the army, Robert worked as a private scuba instructor. He even flew airplanes across Iranian skies before US authorities caught him for the theft of a stash of dynamite a couple of years earlier.

Robert even killed his mother’s third husband and faked his death by stealing a plane and passing bad checks. Moreover, after his release from Prison in 1980, he opened multiple businesses. At one point, he was a chief inspector for the Riverside County building department, and later, he won election to his homeowner’s association board.

He even taught contract law and mediation online at the University of California Riverside.
