Later during the Covid-19 pandemic, the couple started to reflect on the ups and downs they faced in their relations. Shannon expressed that her relationship with John was getting worse than it is.

‘I put this fairy tale label on the relationship, which then caused too much pressure on me, but I know that I’m with someone who loves me and I love him too, so it’s a win-win.’

The problems in their marriage persisted since the beginning of their relationship. David arrested and charged with battery against a cohabitant and assault when a fight between them escalated in 2003.
However, he gave a clean chit, and the case eventually dismissed 3 years later.

David started an extramarital affair with a married woman named Nicole McMackin. Nicole is the CEO of Irvine Technology Corporation in California.
